Women Empowerment
Western Rajasthan has patriarchal society and feudal mentality, further downgrading the status of women. Women face three-pronged attack of their caste, class and poverty. They face caste structure, untouchability, economic, political, legal, religious and cultural discrimination and oppression.
The women in the area are uneducated, malnourished and at the lowest rung of their community and family. They do not have any right over their labour and economic resources. Though women are backbone of agriculture not only in western Rajasthan, but also in entire India, they are not counted as farmer. In a nutshell women are at the margin of the society, family and community.
In this backdrop, the organisation is making efforts for empowering women economically and politically:
- Women leadership development
- Women capacity building workshop
- Women fortnight celebration
- International Women’s Day celebration
- Income generation programme
- Handicraft development programme
- Advocacy on atrocities on women
